Are Small Red Colour Spots On Tongue Symptom Of HIV?
Hello... I have being in unprotected sexual contact with a person that I believe had un-protected sex with a good number of men. However I have very small red colour spots on my tongue which has increased very slowly from the past week and I made sexual contact with her from the start of the last year. I was wondering it is an HIV symptoms as I also had pain in my glands but they are not swollen. I have also carried out a blood test for it but the Doctor stated that it would not be detected until a minimum of 3 months after the sexual contact. If anyone can advice me or tell me something on my situation I would be great-full. Thank you
Hi Lesions in mouth suggesting HIV are oral hairy leucoplakia and recurrent candidiasis ( both are white in colour) and recurrent aphthous ulcer which is red and painful. Sexual promiscuity is the most common cause of spread of HIV world wide. History of an unprotected promiscuous sex is a strong indication for HIV screening. Routine screening tests give a positive reports after a minimum of 8 weeks. So test in third month of exposure for HIV If it's negative, repeat the test after 3 months, and if again negative, HIV is ruled out. Remember prevention is better than cure, si avoid such high risk behaviour in future. Also a long lasting non healing lesion in oral cavity also need evaluation So consult your doctor Best of luck
Thank you
