Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Yes, if your
pregnancy has been diagnosed with a urine pregnancy test or
ultrasound, then these symptoms could be due to the hormonal changes your body is going through during pregnancy. If not yet diagnosed I suggest purchasing a urine pregnancy test/going to an
OBGYN so they can confirm any pregnancy present. If not, consider getting your blood sugars checked to rule out risk of diabetes. (Which can also be caused due to pregnancy) .Other changes you should watch out for include tenderness of the nipples, increase in your urination, abnormal food cravings as well as nausea and vomiting or
morning sickness (though the morning sickness usually subsides by 12 weeks of your pregnancy). For more information I recommend researching all the changes your body is going through right now so you can be prepared.
Remember you will be eating for two now! So I recommend you consult a nutritionist for a healthy
diet plan and cross check with your OBGYN regarding any iron,
folic acid and
calcium supplements that you need to be taking.
Stay healthy!
Yours truly,
Dr. Ankit Gopinath
