Hallow Dear, You have been thoroughly examined clinically by your doctor and has very aptly diagnosed as a case of tonsillitis and/or virus (mostly flue ). Viral infections are usually self limiting if no superadded bacterial infection sets in. Since you have landed in tonsillitis, the bacterial infection has already set in. So the ideal treatment for such condition is antibiotics with hot gargles and hot drinks. Avoid any chilled food articles. If you have given an oral sex to someone, there is always a chance that you may catch fresh STD if the partner is having any type of STD. It is better that you confide this history to your physician and get clinical examination and laboratory investigations done accordingly.
