Hi I ve been going though a skin infection for at least 6 months had blood test an skin SWOB.. My doctor didn t express too me my condition. On my last test he advised me that I have moderate growth of staphylococcus.. He told me its very contagious.. But not life threatening.. I have been using intravenously up too 1 week ago .. What if it is in my blood .?

Staph infections may cause disease due to direct infection or due to the production of toxins by the bacteria. Boils, impetigo, food poisoning, cellulitis, and toxic shock syndrome are all examples of diseases that can be caused by Staphylococcus. Sepsis (infection of blood) due to staph can be life threatening if not treated properly. You should continue your treatment as advised by your doctor.
