Are Statins Drugs Advisable When Having Cholesterol Level Of 203?

Hello, Thank you for taking your time. Just back from the doctor who wants to put me on statins. I am a 60 yr old male, rather skinny, no diabetes, blood pressure normal, if not on the lower side. Cholesterol total 203 (125-200 mg/dl) H HDL Chol 58 LDL Chol, calculated is 132 (so that s on the higher side, I understand) Chol/HDL ration 3.5 Triglycerides 63 I don t want to take statins, they have side effects, and a lot of experts are wary about them, I am otherwise healthy, but I am little concerned, if I really have a Cholesterol problem that should be addressed other than through nutrition, excercise etc. I was thinking of taking red yeast rice, or cinnamon etc. Thank you for your kind input.
