Hi my dad who is 59 was diagnosed with pancreatic primary and secondary liver cancer in april this year he was told was inoperable and 3_6 months to live, he was advised against chemotherapy and wanted to be himself for as long as possible, when he was discharged from hospital 6 weeks ago he was very ill slept most days and did not eat he went into Marie curie they fitted him with a drive and he has been on steroids for the last 3 weeks and is doing brilliant still going out socialising do steroids give us false hope?
* Steroids act as anti-inflammatory medication and halt the progress of underlying pathology and it is not giving false hope of curing cancer, but this is the symptomatic improvement only.
* Till the liver function and kidney functions are okay, one can use steroids safely under strict medical supervision.
