Are Stomach Ache And Earache After Recovering From Fever Symptoms Of Mononucleosis?

My son saw a dr on tuesday and was diagnoised with a viral infection and some fluid in his ear but told it was ok. Also if he wasn t better by Friday then we needed to been seen for a mono test. The fever broke last night, he s complained of stomach pains off and on and now his ear hurts him a lot. could mono be a possibility? My ears hurt when I had it years ago.

Your symptoms suggestive of otitis media like ear infection. It can be viral infection as per symptoms. Your Otoscopy ear examination should be done. Decongestants like Benadryl or Levocetirizine can be prescribed for symptomatic relief. For pain Paracetamol SOS can be prescribed. Steam inhalation and salt water gargle can be done. In mononucleosis cervical lymphadenopathy and hepatosplenomegaly usually present. If this is present than get investigated for it.
