Are The Drugs Dexamethasone, Prednisone And Tylenol Safe To Take With Xarelto?

I am looking to see if the following drugs are safe to take with Xarelto. I just started taking it last week. Is Tylenol safe with it? Is Dexamethosome safe? If not, is Predisone better. I take Dex with my chemo treatments for Amyloidosis. Also is cough medicine with codeine safe with it? I have used it before with coughs due to allergies and sinus infections which I have now, and I don t to take if there is a problem with the Xarelto.

Hello,

You can safely take Dexamethasone, Prednisone, Tylenol and/or cough syrup containing codeine with Xarelto. Dexamethasone is a more potent and long-acting steroid medication compared to Prednisone. The choice of Dexamethasone vs Prednisone will depend on the severity of the clinical condition/status. So please be advised to follow up with your treating physician to see if starting a steroid medication is appropriate for you.
