Are The Scar Tissues From The Injection Sites Of Heroin And Meth, Which Are Sore To Touch And Limiting The Ability To Extend The Hands, Are Serious?
I used heroin and meth intravenously for a year about 3-4 years ago. I am not clean and sober. I have started going to the gym and using weights to exercise. Now my body is sore from all the lifting, etc. but I have scar tissue (it feels like) from two injection sites I used when iv'ing. The scarred areas are sore to the touch and are limiting my ability to extend and flex my elbows.
Please tell me this isn't serious. It feels like I'm STILL dealing with the downfalls of drug use even years after I've stopped.
Dear User, Thanks for posting a query at healthcare magic. The scar tissue that is causing impairment in your functioning is may be serious one if the problem continues for longer duration of time.
In long run it may cause contractures (permanent shortening) that will limit your functioning to the great extent. But if you are able to stretch your arm to the full extent than this is not to worry situation. To get it confirm kindly see a physiotherapist or your zym trainer (if qualified enough) can guide you. Thanks
