Are The Yellow Pus Filled Boils Which Are Sore Due To Eczema?
Hi, My daughter is 3, has had infected eczema for the last 4 weeks, but now has got small boil type spots all over her body, they are yellow pus filled and are sore to the touch. My other daughter has got 2 of these spots and I (adult 43) have one now, do they sound like eczema?
Hello, Thanks for the query. Folliculitis is a bacterial infections. Treatment is with antibiotics but the choice of antibiotics should be based on culture and sensitivity tests. Please meet a dermatologist and request to do culture and sensitivity test on pus obtained from the lesion for exact diagnosis. Once the exact bacteria is known, specific treatment can be given. Improper use of antibiotic can lead to resistance.
