Should Canesten Solution Be Continued In View Of Ear Thrush And Itching?
I have been diagnosed with Thrush inside my ear, but it has taken a year to diagnose, and I guess it has taken hold. I have been given Caneston solution, which has stopped the infection pouring out from the inner ear, and affecting the outer ear but not the itching of the outer ear. Should I just continue( two weeks so far) or is there something else on the outer ear as well, the ENT last year thought there may be eczema and I have Betnovate. Thank you

The thrush in the ear needs to be cleaned properly before using the Canestone solution. Without proper cleaning, if you use the solution you may get temporary relief but disease is not cured yet. You can try syringing at home to wash out the fungal debris out of ear and then start using the Canestone solution. You can use this solution three to four times daily. Please make sure you keep your ears dry till you are cured off. Also add up Cetirizine tables to reduce itching and paracetamol for pain.
