Radiation Oncologist 's  Response
Hi,

I am sorry for your suffering, unfortunately, cancer and its treatment both are associated with complications and adverse effects. Weighing the risks and benefits of the treatment, harsh decisions are taken. The most important thing to assess in your case is whether the medications prescribed are showing any response.

Pain management involves multiple options ranging from simple OTC analgesics to palliative radiation therapy; option to be decided based upon various factors such as severity of pain, response to prior pain therapy. Kindly show to a pain expert for detailed evaluation of your pain and get yourself most effective pain killer. Also, if you have shingles, are you getting treated for that? Kindly get that checked as well.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jatin Bhatia, Radiation Oncologist
