Are There Any Drug Interactions Between Cipro, Colchicine And Metoprolol?

I am on colchicine 0,6mg and a taper of prednisone 5mg tablets(half way through a 15 day prescription) for pseudogout. I take warfarin 5mg daily plus 1 low-dose aspirin plus metoprolol 25 mg daily for AFib. Diagnosed today with a UTI. Culture report will not be back before Friday. Cipro 250 mg twice a day for 5 days prescribed. Can it interact with my current medications?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

Ciprofloxacin does not have any interaction with Colchicine .

Ciprofloxacin increases levels of metoprolol by decreasing metabolism. It is considered to be a minor interaction.

Short duration such as 5 day course of ciprofloxacin will not cause any major interaction. You can take the drug at different time of the day to avoid any side effects.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
