Hi, My daughter is 4 yrs old. She has strabismus since she was born with her eyes deviating outwards. She also has slight astigmatism. Her left eye vision is slightly lower than the right eye. She wears a small prescription eye glasses now. She has gone through surgery in both her eyes (outer muscles) when she was 18 mos old. After couple of months after her first surgery, we noticed that her eyes were slightly crossing in. Looks like the doctor may have over corrected. He suggested another surgery in one of the eyes (Left eye - inner muscle), and not operating on both eyes again just to make sure that he gets the desired result. So, she has gone through another surgery when she was 3 yrs. The left eye looks good now and looks very much aligned, and we are happy with it. The right eye is still slightly crossing in (which is probably still the over correction from the first surgery). Most of the times she s straight. But when she s trying to really focus on any object or trying to play soccer, she brings her right eye inwards. We met the doctor again and he suggested another surgery, now in her right eye (inside muscle) since the left eye has good results. I am happy with the second surgery, and looking at my daughter pictures before the first surgery, and after the second surgery..... there s huge improvement. But as a mother, I am quite paranoid putting her through another surgery again. I tried to pull in all my courage for the first two surgeries for her good future. The reason for my anxiety is... if the right eye gets operated and if I get the good result, that s all I can ask for. But God forbid if I notice any additional crossing after the 3rd surgery, I will be devastated.I can t keep putting her thru surgeries... I wanted to reach out to you to see if there are any non-surgical ways to correct this problem. Please help!! Thanks!
