Are There Any Possibility Of Changes In The Urine Drug Screen Shortly After The Test?

I took a urine drug screen on March 20th and did not get the results back until April 14th. After having to track down the results from the test lab. The results came back positive for amphetamines. I have since tested my hair and there are no illegal drugs in my system. How can these results even be used after 24 days? I got the hair test back in four days.

Hello,

Usually the urine drug test remains positive until one months. Then after it is false negative. Thus, in your case the result is okay. If you have concerns regarding it than you should talk with your doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jolanda Nikolla, Pulmonologist
