Are There Any Side Effects For Having An Implanon In After The Expiry Date?

I've had my implement in for 3 yrs and 1month. I was suppose to have it removed Jan.6, 2014 but I no longer have health insurance or a job to pay for the removal procedure. A my question is, are there any side effects for having an implanon in after the expiration date? Do you know of any free medical facilities that could help me?

There are no side effects to having it in place for too long. However, it can be moire difficult to remove the longer it stays in. Most importantly, you can no longer rely on it for birth control, and you should expect unusual bleeding and period patterns as the hormone in the implant runs out. I wish you the best of luck in finding a new job and insurance. I hope this was helpful to you. Please let me know if you have any more questions.
