Are There Other Alternatives Except Steroids To Treat Post-nasal Drip After Being Diagnosed With Chronic Rhinitis?

Hi, I have been having repeated post nasal drip, which sticks at the back of my nose, as well as throat clearing and mild congestion for a number of years. i have had numerous tests including pulm function and x rays and have tried nasal steroids and rinses. nothing seems to help. I met with an ent yesterday and he examined me and stated i had chronic rhinitis, but would not provide any medications. he is sending me for CT scan of sinuses. is there any other options to treat this condition or meds that he should have tried?

I have gone through your query regarding treatment of chronic rhinitis with post nasal drip, though you are already taking steroids.

Your Doctor had advice you C.T.Scan of paranasal sinuses prior to advice medicines I think he is doing nice because you have post nasal drip which is characteristic of Sinusitis and you are not getting satisfactory response of current medication for rhinitis is again favoring sinusitis. These facts have the important role in the treatment.

Therefore it will be a wise step to go for C.T.Scan of sinuses to pin point the diagnosis and that may be treated accordingly.
