Are There Risks Of Heart Diseases Even After Regulating Blood Pressure Levels?
Hello Doctor,My husband is 41 years old and he is diagonised of high blood pressure ,rate is 230/110,he neither drinks nor smokes ,but drinks coffee a lot ,doctor prescribed with tablet for high bp for 30 days. His ecg was normal ,was no issues. My question is even after controlling high bp,are there any risks of heart diseases,Request you advice on his health
Coffee doesn't cause any problem, no studies say that. But 230 is too high for hypertension. He has to continue life long medications for blood pressure. And, to be fair yes he is likely candidate for high risk of heart disease. Better to get a lipid profile, a baseline echo, ecg and keep regular 6 months follow up.
