Hi,

As a general rule Oral contraceptive pill needs to be started after the end of the period (5 days). You took the pill on the first day of period which took effect and stopped the bleeding from the next day. The first 25 pill contains estrogen and last 5 pills does not contain any hormone but iron mostly. You taking the pill containing estrogen on the first day of menses is a cause of your issue -- {stopped bleeding after first day}.

Please keep taking the pills as per the days mentioned on the leaflet. You should start menses again on the 26th day till 30th as if new cycle started. Based on the information provided it seems you are not pregnant at this point. Please relax for now till the 26th day comes. If it bleeds -- no pregnancy. If it does not bleed, you need to wait for some time and try over the counter pregnancy test after 45th day from the day you took first pill.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jay Patel, General & Family Physician
