Are Violent Behavior, Mood Swings And Lightheadedness The Side Effects Of Straterra?

My son, who is also autistic, has been taking 40 mg Straterra for two weeks. Yesterday, he had a scary meltdown, was aggressive, and was self-harming by striking his head with his fists. He also complained he was lightheaded. He is 19 years old. Are these possible side effects?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to HCM. Thanks for your query.
These are not usual side effects of Strattera so I would not assign this to Straterra. This may be acute psyhosis or worsening of autism and you should seek medical attention and appropriate treatment.
I hope I have answered you query.
Wish you good heatlh. Regards
