Arm Hurt While Playing, Looks Slightly Curved. Hurts During Movements. Chances Of Hair Line Fracture?

Hi, yesterday I was playing basketball with my friend, and as we both reached for the ball as it was bouncing away, my arm hooked around his left arm, he threw his elbow back (not on purpose) into the soft part of my right arm where it bends. It immediatley hurt where the elbow bends inside the arm (the soft part). It feels better today but still hurts when I bend it in or out. If I look in front of a mirror and put my arms above my head fully erected my right arm is curved slightly to the left (even though it doesn't hurt crazy). It throbs a little, only when I bend my arm alot. Could it possibly be a hair-line fracture? Pulled muscle? Thanks Charlie

Hello,
thanks for using health care magic

It is likely that you have a soft tissue trauma which could either be muscle or tendon or ligament trauma.

Severe tendon and ligament trauma just like bone fracture usually present with severe onset pain and swelling and with loss of function occurring immediately.

From the info you have given, it is less likely that you have a fracture nor a severe ligament nor severe tendon trauma. It is more likely that you have a mild tendon/ligament trauma and should heal within a couple of days.

You should rest the arm, avoid straining it, could use ice and bandage, pain killers ( paracetamol, ibuprofen etc) and it will be okay within a couple of days.

Best regards
