Around The 4th Of July I Started Smelling Cigarette Smoke

Around the 4th of July I started smelling cigarette smoke and nobody else could. It was the day before my birthday and my dad was a heavy smoker before he passed so I just brushed it off because my dad smoked before he passed and my mom said he was with me on my birthday. I didn't quite believe it but like I said I brushed it off. I kept smelling it for 2 1/2 more weeks and decided to go to the doctor. He gave me a referral to an ENT and told me to make sure I started taking my allergy medicine again regularly but by the time they called the only appointment they had was yesterday but I didn't go because I had been taking my medicine and about 4 days after the doctor the smells stopped. But earlier tonight my left eye started hurting and the whole eye hurts and looking at things stains it. Is this something that I really need to be worried about?
