Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
As a kid I was put on ssri,s for anxiety. I am 30 now and the celexa has seemed to quit working all together. I feel terrible every day now for almost 6 months. GP has tried a couple other drugs but nothing seems to help. The very second I wake up I begin shaking. I feel sick to my stomach and shaky all day long. I also have been starting to have uncontrollable shivering in the morning as well. I've tried changing my diet, and drink no caffeine. Cant think strait either at work. I just don't know what to do anymore. Also have no energy or motivation anymore. Have SSRIs permanently changed my brain's function? I tried tapering off of them but that made no difference either. Currently on a Benzo after having a couple of panic attacks but it is having little to no effect on my general anxiety. I try to exercise but I feel so bad all the time that it is hard to do. Had blood work done and a stress test. All came back normal. Was originally on 40mg of celexa / citalopram. Tapered down to nothing. Began having bad withdraw effects. Now back on 20mg a day. Also on Clonazepam 1.5mg twice a day.
