At What Intervals Should Acupan Doses Be Taken?

I have chronic lower back pain and sciatica. I have been prescribed Acupan injections. Tried one but the site of the injections was sore for days. My pharmacist says I can take them orally at the rate of 3 oral instead of one ampoule injected. I am going mad with the pain tonight and wonder how long I have to wait between doses. I am female, 70, 120kg, diabetic and have sleep apnoea. I am going for a back scan (again) next week as have almost no discs left in L3-4-5. General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The usual dose of nefopam is one 30mg tablet taken 3 times a day. It is usually prescribed when painkillers are not effective. When the pain control is not satisfactory, the dose can be increased to two tablets 3 times a day but not more than that.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
