Awakened From Bad Dream. Blood Pressure Became High. Is It Due To Fear?

I had a bad dream last night and was awakened thinking something was knocking. Like a washing machine off balance. I got up and looked through the house then thought of taking my blood pressure. It was 165 over 95. I remembered the dream and just sat a few minutes and took my bp a few more times and it got down to 140 over 85. I never had this happen before. Was it most likely just because of the fear?
