Azithromycin is the choice antibiotic to treat pneumonia. However, there are bacteria strains that now resistant to this drug and other antibiotics. I understand that FDA is in the process of approving an antibiotic that will wipe out these resistant strains. Is this correct or just a sales pitch by some drug companies?
