Baby Having Cough, Nasal Congestion. Prescribed Medications Along With Febrex, Asthalin. How Many Days Should The Medicines Be Given?

2 years 8 months old baby girl. Cough and nasal congestion for past 10 days. No fever. Baby is active. Doctor prescribed (1) Febrex Plus 250mg - 3.5 ml x 3 times/day x ? days (2) Zithrox XL 200mg - 3.5 ml x once/day x 5 days (3) Nasivion - 2 drops x 4 times x 3 days (4) Asthalin 2mg - 3ml 2 x 3 times/day x ? days. The number of days for Febrex & Asthalin are not mentioned in the prescription. Could you please advice? - Sajini, Kerala, India

If I would be a Doctor of your baby then I would never put the baby on polytherapy, cough and cold are self limiting phenomenon in this age group unless it has some bacterial infection, in case of infection the condition needs antibiotic but that is rarely happens, in my opinion stop giving all the drugs just try pure honey at bed time, watch for fever, if it is fever then may need further investigation, but no need to worry it will be fine, have nice day.
