hi, we have been sleep training our 9 month old for the past 7 days by putting her in her crib and teaching her to self soothe. we just check and console her every 5 min till she falls asleep. the concern i have is that she s been crying alot and now her voice sounds raspy and hoarse and seems like she s losing her voice. what should we do and should we be concerned and take her to see physician? I have been offering fluids as much as she can tolerate even in the middle of the night.
You can take her to a child specialist and see whether she has any physical problem for which she is crying. If not so, she might have been feeling unsecure or lonely. As she is over 9 months now, give her healthy foods including soft dal-rice,chapati ,fruits like banana, apple, fig etc.,milk, baby food.she should not stay hungry.
For her voice, give her a sweet ayu. powder Yashtimadhu,a pinch from time to time ,also give honey.
Take care of her,bye.
Hi,
voice abuse usually causes damage to vocal cord and swelling of cord cause voice change .Try to find out the cause of exessive crying that is important.
thanks.
