Hi Reena,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Green color stool is normal in infants.

If the stool is not watery or foul smelling nothing to worry.

Weaning food to be started from 6 months onwards in addition to breast feeding.

It is ideal to start with rice based weaning food as rice easy easily digestible and have no allergies.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.

General & Family Physician Dr. Veera Raghava Rao Buddha.'s  Response
Hi, Your son aged 5 months had green stools, started cerelac on 1-6-13, changed to cerelac rice yesterday.
It might be that cerelac rice didn't suit the baby, or there may be some infection in the water used to make the food , if the breast feeding mother takes spicy food or nonvegetarian food.
Now the baby has to be treated for infection, and change the cerelac to wheat and give with water . Thank you.
