Dear Sir I am Charls Daniel. My brother felt back pain and yesterday we took an MRI Scan . Detected : Complete disc desiccation . Your advise will be highly helpfull for me. Following is his MRI SCAN result... MRI- LUMBAR SPINE Protocol: Multi-planar, multi-eco MRI of lumbar spine was performed. Observation: There is an disc bulge which is indenting the anterior thecal sac at L3-L4-L5 and L5-S1 levels. Complete disc desiccation noted at L3-L4 level. partial disc desiccation note at L5-S1 level. On axial: Posterocentral / paracentral protrusion with annular tear causing canal stenosis and significant narrowing of the bilateral neural foramen,thus abutting the exiting nerve roots at L3-L4 level. Posterocentral / paracentral disc bulge with significant narrowing of the bilateral neural foramen,thus abutting the exiting nerve roots at L4-L5 and L5-S1 levels (R L). Vertebral alignment appears normal. No evidence of spondylolisthesis seen. Remaining disc show no significant bulge / herniation. Vertebral bodies, pedicles, laminae, spinous processes and facetal articulation appear normal. Normal marrow signal intensity preserved. Lower thoracic spinal cord (from D9 vertebral level downwards) and the conus medullaris appear normal. Pre and paravertebral soft tissues appear normal. Mid sagittal spinal canal measurement: L1-L2-12mm L2-10mm L2-L3-10mm L3-08mm L3-L4-07mm L4-08mm L4-L5-11mm L5-11mm L5-S1-11mm IMPRESSION  Posterocentral/ paracentral protrusion with annular tear causing canal stenosis and significant narrowing of the bilateral neural foramen, thus abutting the exiting nerve roots at L3-L4 level.  Posterocentral/ paracentral disc bulge with significant narrowing of the bilateral neural foramen, thus abutting the exiting nerve roots at L4-L5and L5-S1 levels (R L).  Complete disc desiccation at L3-L4 level.  Partial disc desiccation at L5-S1 level.
