Back Pain, Spreading To Chest, Left Side Of Upper Body, Pain On Breathing After Exercising. Muscle Pull?
Hello Doctor, I was at the gym last night when I started feeling a pain in my back. I thought I may have pulled the muscle, but then the pain felt like it was coming from within, and spreading to my chest/left side of upper body. It would hurt whenever I breathed in. When I went home, I laid down and the pain became excruciating. All of a sudden, when I get up, the pain is no longer in my chest but in my neck/collar bone. My lung on my left side has partially collapsed before. What could it be?
Hi Sanchez,
I'm very sorry about your pain,
It might be due to some muscle injury which has led to spasm of the injured muscle to prevent further injury.
Since the same muscles are essential for inspiration it's causing pain whenever you try to breath.
Give rest to the muscle.
Pain killers and muscle relaxants orally will help.
Local irritants will also give symptomatic relief.
Kindly get them prescribed from your doctor.
If the pain worsens or still persists kindly visit your doctor and get medical help.
Thank you.
