Bad Taste In The Throat, Sore Throat. Was Treated For Sinus Infection. Any Suggestions?
I have had an awful taste in the back of my throat for couple Of months now been to doctors twice both times she said virus/sinus infection and gave me antibiotics but was pretty vague. At the same time I have felt quite poorly on and off with intermittent sore throat and cough and generally aching and unwell but the taste/smell is really bothering me now its there all the time. I even went to the dentist to check it wasn't dental problem which I knew it wasn't really as it is right at the back of my throat
thank you for your question,,aweful taste in the back of throat as you said might be due to some of the following reasons; 1.sinus infection and draining posteriorly 2.tosillar or peritosillar abcess I would suggest you to go for pharyngoscopy and consultation with your dentist to be sure.for symptomatic treatment you may rinse with antibiotic mouthwash, cough syrup and for upper respiratory tract infection and sore throat azithromycin group of drugs.hope this will help you.wish you good health,,,
