Banged Shin Against Metal Pole, Egg Shape Swelling, Dip In Shin With Painful Lump. Help?
I banged my right shin again a metal pole 6 months ago. At that time I got brushing and a egg shape swelling after a few weeks this still hurt a got hot around the area. I went to A/E said nothings wrong with it. I now have a dip in my shin and a small lump this at time still causes pain even down to my foot which goes into spasm. Any idea what it is and what I should do. Thanks

General & Family Physician, Dr. Lohit K's Response
Hi, egg shaped swelling after banged against pole suggests hemorrhage. This may be due to fracture or soft tissue injury. Since you have dip in shin also, get done X ray once to know if any fracture.
For now use hot compression and take NSAID like Ibuprofen/ aceclofenac with serratiopeptidase after your doctor's advice. Give rest to the affected limb and keep in elevated position. This will help you.
