Hello,
I have gone through your complaints, it seems that you have developed a circle of anxiety & nervousness characterised by
increased heart rate,
restlessness, discomfort,
sleeplessness.
You know some time mind get entangled in vicious circle of anxiety that increases your heart rate as well as blood pressure, & after coming to know this fact, your anxiety increases more than earlier. This increased anxiety leads further to increase in heart rate & BP, which in turn yields more anxiety.
Advice is very simple. Break this vicious circle. You can take precaution but stop taking extra precaution regarding the health of your heart. It is the job of your treating cardiologist to control your blood pressure.
If you are taking an antihypertensive, just take it regularly with "timed monitoring" of blood pressure. Always remember "frequent monitoring" of blood pressure can increase your BP as well as heart rate.
Regular mild
aerobic exercise is good for your cardiac health, but again extra effort to regulate blood pressure by doing "strenuous exercises", puts extra load on your heart & can lead to further complication.
In fact frequent monitoring of vital signs & always remaining concerned to environmental clues about health advices (such as television & news paper advertisement) can be manifestation of anxiety.
If you are taking anxiolytic like alprazolam, please take it under
psychiatrist advice. Beware this drug have significant addicting potential. it has a short half life, when its level in the blood drops, it leads to
withdrawal symptoms in the form of nervousness, palpitation, restlessness, panic like attack. There are many better & less habit forming alternative to alprazolam.
According to me, you need a thorough interview by a psychiatrist in your locality for ruling out
cardiac neurosis as well as depression.
