Been On Pacemaker Due To Breathlessness. Did ECG, TMT, Stress Echo. Can Budecort, Duolin And Deriphyllin Be Taken Together?
My self Ashwani and we are from new delhi ,my mother aged 86 years weight about 60 kgs. has been suffering from breathlessness for last 1 year , she has been on pacemaker since 2008 and is doing fine otherwise . all her heart ecg , tmt , stress echo , and pathological tests etc. are normal as per her age . but she was not been able to to walk / bath due to breathlessness and cough . chest specialist put her on budecort 0.5 mg , duolin and deriphylin 300 OD for last two months. although he has recommended these three or four times a day but I was giving her twice a day and she has recovered fully and doing her daily chores as usual . after consulting doctor , I stooped giving her budecort only , and just missing 3 days of it she has again having breathlessness , so my question is 1. should I start giving her right now budecort 0.5 mg along with duolin and deriphylin 300 od ? 2. for much period budecort and duolin and can be given / 3. any major side effects of budecort o.5mg and duolin and deriphyylin 300mg od on long term basis . 4. any other safer medicine

If I would be your mother's doctor then I would definitely go for some investigation instead of putting her on steroids and symptomatic drugs, these drugs gives only symptomatic relief and not the drug for underlying cause, it could be a congestive cardiac failure and this should be rule out, giving steroids for a longer than enough can be dangerous, take care of your mother, have nice day.
