Been Stressed, Loss Of Weight, BP Issues, Skin Problems. Will All The Health Issues Settle By Themselves?

I have moved house 2 months ago, it was a stressful time because I was in the middle of doing my dissertation, I was also a witness to an incident at work and had to go to a 2 day hearing. All of this was stressfull. I have lost 8 pounds in weight and my skin is breaking out in spots. I feel ok in myself and have been going to the gym for the past 4 years and have not change any of my exercise. My last BP was 132/86, I have kept an eye on it. But I am concerned about this weight loss, poor skin and BP.... is it just all stress related? I have finished my degree now and the witness thing has now ended, so I am hoping everything will start to settle down. Is there anything I can to do help my BP and stop loosing weight?

Welcome to HCM!

I have read your question carefully and from that it appears that presently you have lack of appetite and poor skin and rise in BP. From my clinical experince i can say that for your BP you just need to take precautions and avoid medicines for now, get it routinely checked, continue with your exercise regimn.

Had I been treating you I would like to get your blood counts, thyroids function test, liver and kidney function and lipid profile, to check all organ system, as you have poor skin. Skin condition is connected to all body organs and one need to check what is causing it, including stress.
I think that it may be due to poor nutrition but I can't relate it in your case as weight loss is not very much and whatever you be eating should be good quality at least.
So, get the above tests done, continue drinking lots of water to keep skin hydrated, take more fruits.

For the time been til you get the tests, please start some good multivitamin like: becosule Z, or cognisule, or cobadex etc., plus an antacids, this will increase your appetite, avoid extra salts in food( for BP), and use some good lotion/ cream/ moistoriser, to prevent skin drying and falling.

I have seen patients greeting better appetite and putting weight by increasing the servings of salad to four to five times in a day and adding sprouts, do not skip meals, eat small amount at a time but eat more frequently, this will increase absorption.

From the question it doesn't look like you are still stressed/ sad, but if you feel lethargic, sad, or anxious, it will be extremely helpful to consult a psychiatrist.

Hope the reply helps you.
