Before I Explain What's Going On With My Left Knee
Before I explain what's going on with my left knee I want to tell you that in 2008 i had 2 meniscus surgeries and an ACL reconstruction surgery on my right knee because my ACL tore in half. I walked around like that for nearly 5 or 6 months not knowing until it tore completely in half because I have a very high pain tolerance. Therefore I have to put a lot more weight on my left leg because I have bad balance on my right leg from the surgeries and arthritis and it still gives out so Its definitely had to over compensate for my right left for the last 7 years.... Now on to my left knee...So 6 days ago i woke up to my left knee throbbing and then it started giving out immediately when I got out of bed with no prior fall or injury. It has given out within 15-20 times a day since. My friends around who have seen it say that my knee locks up and I just drop. Several people have even heard it pop really loud when I try to turn or bend it. I can't extend my leg within a foot off the ground and then it starts having spasms. I cant bend it that far back and also when I stand and put all my weight on that leg my knee starts having spasms. Its very tender to touch my knee cap on the outer side of the bone. My pain is mainly below my knee and above my knee and on the outer side of it. I have hardly slept in 6 days because I wake up throbbing no matter what position I'm in. I have iced it 3 times a day and kept it elevated. My family doctor looked at it and said she thought it was my ACL or LCL. Then the MRI came back normal. I can't afford a hospital bill and my family doctor won't give me any pain medicine she says I have to get it from an ortho doctor and I can't wait 3 weeks for an appointment before I get pain medicine and this hurts way worse than my other leg did when it was hurt. I need advice on what you think could be wrong. I feel like my MRI does show a tear because I have a comparison photo to someone else with a tear of their ACL and mine looks worse but I'm no doctor so I can't tell them they're wrong. Please help
