Black Spots On The Hands. High Blood Sugar Levels, Slow Heart Rate And Pressure In The Chest. Have Myocardial Infarction
My father has blackish hands. His hands are not all the way black, but rather it appears as spots. He was recently hospitalized with slow heart rate, elevated blood sugar rates and chest pressure (accompanied by weakness in his arms). He was diagnosed with myocardial infarction non stemi and type II diabetes (his blood sugar levels are now fine). What is causing the blackness on his hands. Apparently, he had that even before he was hospitalized.
Hi, Thanks for writing to us. Firstly I do not think these black spots are related to his heart condition. These black spots could be of stucco keratosis or seborrheic keratosis, sun spots/ age spots/ lentigines, lichen planus warts, nutritional deficiency mainly vitamin B 12 deficiency. If your father is on aspirin due to his heart problem, these spots could be purpura or petechiae too. As there are multiple possibilities, it is best to consult a dermatologist nearby. You may also use ask a specialist service of this site to discuss the query further as it enables you to upload the reports and images. Thus helping in better diagnosis and providing further management. Hope that helped .
