Bleeding After Stopping Cerazette. Negative Pregnancy Test. No Periods Despite Cramps. Need To Re-test?

Hi. I came off Cerazette on 3rd August, had a bleed 6-7th August. We have been trying for a baby since this. I did a pregnancy test the other day but it was negative. I feel as though I'm experiencing period pains but no period as of yet! My last period when on the pill was 27th July - 1st August. I bled twice a month when on the pill. Just wondering should I re-test again in a week or so if I still haven't had my period?

Hi,
After coming off the pills, it usually takes a couple of months for ovulation to resume. Menstrual disturbances are a common side effect of the pill. As it has been only one month since coming off the pill, you can wait for your next normal cycle. If you do not see it within two weeks after it is due, you should go for investigation. Your symptoms suggest pelvic congestion which could be due to an impending period. If you wish for pregnancy confirmation/exclusion early, please get the serum beta-hCG levels assessed. Hope this helps.
