Bleeding And Smelly Discharge After Sex. Cervical Swab Shows BV Infection. Have CIS/CIN3 History. Is This Serious?
I have bleeding after sex and smelly discharge after sex. Also have discomfort in my vagina. Nurse noticed cervical ectropion upon smear test and swabs showed BV infection. I had CIS/CIN3 12 years ago. If my smear test shows abnormalities should I be worried or can erosion give that result? I can't help but worry due to previous issues.
I am so sorry to hear about this discharge that you have been having. The results are conclusive of a bacteria infection and this falls in line with the symptoms you have reported. Erosion would cause bleeding but not the smelly aspect of it. This makes this unlikely to be caused by erosion.
I hope you have continued to have regular PAP SMEAR checks given this history of CIS/CIN3. This would be the best way to tell what has become of this since then. Talk to your OBGYN about this. Did you by any chance receive treatment for this and had follow up testing?
I hope you find this helpful. Thank you for using our services and please feel free to request for more information if need be. I wish you well good health. Dr. Ditah, MD.
