Bleeding From Nose, Blood Clots In Sputum, Moving Down Throat. Medical Emergency?
I woke up this morning and my nose starting bleeding . I got it to stop, then it started again. I had a clot the size of half dollar that went down the back of my throat and I spit in the sink. I had another one the size of quarter that tried to drain down my throat and I spit out. I did finally get my nose to stop bleeding for now. Do I need to go to er or see my ENT on Monday?
Hello
Welcome in H.C.M.
I have gone through your query regarding bleeding from your nose, I would like to tell you there is a long list of factors responsible for nose bleeding some of them are as under-
(1) Hypertension (2) Drugs having antiplatelet activity like-Disprin.
(3) Drug like Heparin (4) Infection and ulcer of nose over little's area of nose.
(5) Bleeding polyps of nose.
(6) Sinusitis.
(7) Thrombocytopenia (low platelets count)
(8) Tumours of nose and nasopharynx.
You have not tell any other associated symptoms or any thing about your medical history therefore I can't advice you more about treatment. Bleeding nose some times becomes an acute medical emergency therefore it will be better to consult an E.N.T.specialist for clinical examination of nose and proper management and to save from further complications.
