As you have mentioned,the slightly blackish teeth on upper row can be due to-

Fracture of teeth involving pulp or p e r i apical tissue.

Chances of tooth being non-vital is very high.

I would advice you to visit a dentist and get the tooth root canal treated.

Usually,antibiotics along with analgesics has to be administered in such cases.

Welcome to HCM forum. When a tooth get traumatized, there is bleeding inside the tooth as it bleed outside. The blood then enters in some tube like structures(dentinal tubule) in dentin that forms the the outer wall of the chamber(pulp chamber)inside a tooth which contains nerve and blood vessels (Dental Pulp). The entered blood in the tubule clots naturally and slowly breaks down to some pigment, which gives some brown to blackish discoloration of a tooth after some time in some cases of trauma to a tooth. In majority of the cases the dental pulp become dead or so called 'non vital' in such discolored tooth. You should visit to a dentist preferably to a PEDIATRIC DENTIST who will check the tooth vitality( pulp dead or still functioning) and mostly will go for Root Canal Treatment (here called Pulpectomy) of the tooth. Do not worry, in deciduous tooth it's a very simple, painless procedure, usually takes two appointments. The tooth is then reduced a little and covered with Composite Resin ( A kind of plastic filling of same color of tooth)with the help of a tooth crown shaped plastic form. The procedure called Strip Crown. Your Kid's will look normal then without any chance of further complications. The only major hurdle here is your child's cooperation. The dentist needs in three visits your child should sit 15 to 20 mins in the dental chair without much disturbance which is not very much expected at this age. You should prepare you kid before visit to a dentist by reinforcing positive thoughts in his/her mind about some kind of tooth management. Blackish discolouration is the most common sign of trauma to the primary tooth.
Injuries to the primary tooth have potential to disturb the development and health of the underlying permanent tooth therefore a thorough clinical and radiological examination by the Dentist is required.
Although the colour change does not require an immediate treatment but the tooth is more likely to undergo pathologic changes and should be kept under supervision.
