Bleeding(on Slight Pressure) After Using Metronidazole Gel. Also Use Nuvarings. Injured Vagina Or Hormonal Imbalance?
Three weeks ago I started using metronidazole gel, during the five day treatment on day three I started bleeding out of no where during injecting the.gel. also I was using it while on the nuvaring. After I finish the treatment I would bleed a little only during/ after sex. Last week I got my period I assume but was still on the nuvaring (it was a new.ring I.put in when my period started coming usually the ring stops.it) I had a.week of bleeding. Now I still have.blood coming.down.but only if.I douche, masturbate, or put and type of pressure or.pentration on my vagina. Did I injury.my vagina while injecting the.gel or is it a hormone.inbalance?

If fresh blood is seen after douche or masturbating, possibility of injury cannot be ruled out. I suggest that you consult a gynecologist who can do a speculum examination and rule out any serious injury. If there is no injury then the only other cause to be ruled out is any internal bleeding from the cervical os which will also be seen on clinical vaginal examination.

Injury following incorrect metronidazole insertion would have been only transient. Post coitus bleeding I would like to rule out presence of infection like cervicitis or vaginitis as the cause. You need a thorough checkup by your Gynecologist to rule out infection . If no local causes are found only then it could be considered to be due to hormonal imbalance
