Blisters, red Marks On Skin As Water Bug Burrowed. Taking Dexametasona, Quadriderm. Also Spots On Stomach. Help?

Hi! I just returned from Mexico last night and saw a Dr. in Tulum for a huge welt with blisters on my leg and some other red marks on Sunday that started last Thursday which I had been snorkeling all day. He said I had been infected with a "water bug" and it (they) apparently burrowed into my skin causing the blisters and red marks. He prescribed me Dexametasona tablets .75 mg to take 2x/day for 5 days and quadriderm cream to apply 2x/day for 5 days. The blisters are gone and the redness is still there, the pain turned itchy and I also have some new spots on my stomach now. Have you ever heard of such a thing and Can you tell me what the pill is for and should I just go to a Dr. in PA where I live?

Welcome to hcm.
Dexamethason is steroid given for redness but i think there is development of the fungal infection under steroid therapy.
According to me stop dexamethason tablet.Continue quadriderm cream.
Start oral anti fungal like flucanazole-150.
Levocetrizine will be helpful to subside itching.
Also take Nsaid to subside redness, pain, inflammation.
Take proper local care, avoid excessive wetness of that part.
Keep in touch with your doctor so he can examine the further development and start treatment accordingly.
I find this answer helpful
