Blocked Ears, Pain On Cleaning With Q-tip, Hearing Loss, Constant Ringing. Treatment Options?
So about 2 days ago i leaned on my boyfriends chest and my ear got kind of plugged. i thought it was just ear wax so when i went inside i cleaned my ear with a qtip and it just got worse, it has gotten so bad that i can t hear out of my right ear, only little sounds and there is a constant ringing in it and it feels that right by my tragus is swollen
It is advised that no objects including Q tips be placed in the ear because of the potential for problems. The Qtip may have pushed the wax against the eardrum which is a common consequence. The wax against the ear drum may be causing the ringing in the ear ( tinnnitus) and the decreased hearing.
It can be easily remedied by the use of wax softening agents for a few days, the wax should move from the inner aspect towards the outer ear where it can be safely wiped away.If you still have significantl symptoms then your doctor can syringe the ear for you.
I hope this helps and I hope that you feel better soon
