Blood In Urine. Ultrasound Shows Shadow, Kidney Stone. Surgery To Crush Stone. Causes For Symptoms?

Hi...My husband had blood in his urine. Had a ultrasound that showed small stone . urologist than ordered a ct scan . scan showed stone and also a shadow. he had blood work. urologist said not looking at it as cancer at all. he doesnt think that at all..now he will be admitted in hospital to crush stone and look into bladder at shadow. any idea other than cancerous tumor that it could be?? thanks

Hallo
Thanks for your query.You have not mentioned about the shadow whether it is in kidney or Bladder.and location of a small stone whether it is in ureter,Kidney or bladder. If the shadow that you have mentioned about is in Bladder it could ne a benign papillary tumor or carcinoma for which cystoscopic examination and a biopsy of the mass is mandatory to decide about further treatment.If stone is small and does not have any back pressure changes in kidmy can be observed for a month to pass it out naturally.
