Blood Sugar Level 83. Do I Have Diabetes ?

I am 17, 5 6 or 5 7 and weigh about 190 lbs. My mom has this diabetes thing that pokes your finger , then it shows your blood sugar. The doctor gave her to track her blood sugar to help tell if she had diabetes. She didn t. But I used it a couple times and it was 83. I believe this is lower than normal, at least according to the little pamphlet that came with the meter thing. Do you think I have diabetes? My mom doesn t have diabetes. the doctor gave her the meter thing so she could track her blood sugar to see if she had diabetes. She didn t.

definitely by the above readind you are not an diabetic...fasting blood sugar anything between 70 to 110mg/dl and postprandial(i.e after 2hrs of foog) <180mg/dl is normal blood sugar...but as you your mom is diabetic u may anticipate diabetes for you in future ..have proper food, diet and exercise in order overcome the anticipation..thank you

The level of 83 is less, you are correct. But when have ou taken it matters? was it after a long time after you had food? or was it on empty stomach/fasting sample. Usually diabetes runs in the families, confirm if your mom has it.

No from the glucometer reading that you have put across, you do not seem to have diabetes.
