Hi,
Welcome to HCM
You are diabetic for last 8 years and you must know one needs to control FBS and PPBS and you have not told are you taking insulin or tab (Hypoglycemic Drugs). AS your Hb A1 c is > 7% it suggest that you are relatively uncomtrolled diabetes.
Just take care of your diet and adjust antidiabetic drugs if required add insulin to the combination.
If you do not walk start walking 3 to 4 km /day which will help to regulate blood sugar level.
A good control of diabetes also prevents late comlications apart from giving good quality of life.
Even during period some hormone changes you should have good control as it is not any problem if you have good determination.
See a good Endocrinologist /Diabetologist and you can take help of dietician.
Best of Luck.
Take Care.
