Is Maltitol And Sorbitol Composition Of Sugar Free Safe For Type II Diabetes?
I recently bought HoneyTrees sugar Free Imitation Honey...it has 12 grams of maltitol; 2grams of sorbitol. I have diabetes 2 and want to know if this honey is safe for me used in moderation( ex: I use it mostly in a cup of tea). Is it safe for me?
I really recommend not to take these tablets regularly for sugar free alternative for type 2 diabetes because.
1. Sorbitol is normally formed in our body as complication of high blood sugars which forms activation of various mechanisms leading to formation of advanced glycated end products which int urn start the microvascular complications.
2. Secondly It might aggravate neuropathy, but no evidence says that.
So it is recommended to continue taking aspartame as sugar free supplement rather than sorbitol
Thanks
