You are pre-diabetic. Yes, need change life style !

FBS is a fasting blood sugar - it is taken after a period of not eating for at least 8 hours - it should be between 70 - 100mg/dl.
A PPBS is a post parandial blood sugar which means it is taken approximately 2 hours after you eat a meal. It too should be between 70 - 100mg/dl.

If both are up, it is a good indicator for diabetes.
If both are down, it is a good indicator that you are NOT diabetic
If one if up and the other is down (doesn't matter which) it is an indicator that you could be pre-diabetic.

To determine whether you have a normal metabolism, prediabetes or diabetes in one of three different ways - there are three possible tests:

The A1C test (no data from you)
- at least 6.5% means diabetes
- between 5.7% and 5.99% means prediabetes
- less than 5.7% means normal

The FPG (fasting plasma glucose) test(the patient is 90.12mg/dl, normal)
- at least 126 mg/dl means diabetes
- between 100 mg/dl and 125.99 mg/dl means prediabetes
- less than 100 mg/dl means normal

An abnormal reading following the FPG means the patient has impaired fasting glucose (IFG)

The OGTT (oral glucose tolerance test) -nodata from the patient.
- at least 200 mg/dl means diabetes
- between 140 and 199.9 mg/dl means prediabetes
- less than 140 mg/dl means normal

An abnormal reading following the OGTT means the patient has impaired glucose tolerance (IGT)

Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Akhilesh Dubey's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic,

You are not Diabetic at present. Your blood sugar both Fasting and PPBS are within normal range.

According to American Diabetic association current diagnostic criteria are :

Fasting blood Glucose = or >126 mg/dl
Postprandial blood glucose = or > 200 mg/dl.

Your blood glucose numbers are well within normal range so do not worry.
It good to follow healthy lifestyle like regular exercise daily for 45 minute.
If you smoke and/or take alcohol quit both.

If overweight try to lose some weight to reach near ideal weight.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck.
Dr.Akhilesh Dubey M.D.
